過去曾多次在節目上評論布朗尼還沒準備好成為職業球員的名嘴史密斯(Stephen A. Smith)，日前看到布朗尼在NBA賽場上繳出單場17分的表現後，改口說道：「從我一開始看到這孩子，就一直相信這孩子是有潛力在NBA生存的。」

一直都力挺布朗尼的退役球星亞瑞納斯(Gilbert Arenas)，則是大酸那些曾經看衰布朗尼的媒體，他說道：「之前還有媒體說布朗尼根本連在發展聯盟都無法生存，然後他開始展現統治力了，現在那些媒體全部安安靜靜。」

布朗尼本季在發展聯盟例行賽出賽17場，平均每場貢獻22.4分5.2籃板5.0助攻，是發展聯盟歷史上第一個在未滿25歲就能同時繳出這些數據的球員，對比他開季初期的跌跌撞撞，布朗尼在發展聯盟已經連續10場出賽的得分都在15分以上，確實展現出色的適應和調整能力。
當然，布朗尼在洛杉磯湖人陣容還沒真正站穩腳步，不過對一個在第二輪第55順位才被選進的球員來說，似乎已經算是不錯的生涯起步，值得一提的是，布朗尼本季在湖人出賽的正負值為-58，而他的父親詹姆士(LeBron James)其實是更不理想的-70……
